![]() With views like yours, I hope you won't be living anywhere near Sugar Land. But besides that that, Houston is as least judging as it gets in Texas I’ll give it that Austin’s outskirts are generally less judging than Houston’s (though not all, Austin has its judging areas too). Houston is certainly no San Francisco but considering we are in the southern USA, Houston is about the least judging as it gets in USA. But even conservative in Houston tends to be more accepting. I'll also admit, the farther you get from the center, the more conservative it gets (not a hard & fast truism, but in general). Houston doesn't care what you are, we care what you do. As mentioned above, we've had Black mayors, Lesbian mayor, old-white-men mayors, female County Judge (that's what we call the head of the county, the "County Judge", even though they aren't really a judge). ![]() We really do tend to be open to all, non-judgmental. I also think the vast majority of the greater Houston area will also be welcoming. I find that living closer to the center of the city, people are just less judging. I mean White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, gay, straight, inked, religious or not, married or not. There is such a diversity of people inside the Loop, and it feels welcoming to all. More culture, more variety of people & lifestyles, more attractions, a "more alive" vibe. The entire "Inner City"* would be my recommendation.
